About the Role

University Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Physicist to join our Radiation Oncology team at the Seidman Cancer Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of radiation oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical, research, and educational programs in partnership with the department's leadership team.
  • Collaborate with a team of 23 physicists and 16 dosimetrists to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the acceptance and commissioning, quality assurance, direct patient care, radiation safety, and treatment planning support.
  • Teach didactic courses for physician residents and mentor physics residents, dosimetry students, and guide trainees.
  • Support the proton therapy center at the main campus of Seidman Cancer Center and our photon clinic.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at University Hospitals is a world-class center of excellence, consistently ranked as a top cancer center by US News and World Report. We are part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is one of the top 10 accruing sites to cooperative group trials in the nation.

We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of radiation oncology through research and education. Our team of 20 physicians, 23 physicists, 7 physician residents, 3 physics residents, 16 dosimetrists, and 40 therapists covers over nine facilities, treating over 3,000 patients per year.

Requirements
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience post Ph.D., including residency.
  • Effective organization, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with proton therapy is preferred.
