Under administrative supervision, assists physicians with orthopedic and surgical procedures. Provides written instructions for patients and sets up supplies and equipment. Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.

May instruct Orthopedic Technicians I and trainees in procedures and techniques. Performs tasks such as setting up instruments, collecting patient data, and recording patient care services.

As a surgical assistant, may perform tasks such as cutting sutures, applying graspers, and suctioning blood. Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, types of fractures, and orthopedic equipment.

Requires a graduate degree from an accredited Orthopedic Technician program or equivalent training. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.

Shifts include day shifts and may include hospital call shifts. Work location is on-site at Kaiser Permanente.
