About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Cyber Threat Protection Specialist to join our team at Southern California Edison. This is an exciting opportunity to work on safeguarding critical infrastructure by proactively identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential cyber threats to grid systems.
In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the resilience and reliability of utility operations by collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize the risk of disruptions and protect essential services for communities.
As a key member of our team, your work will contribute to creating a cleaner energy future while providing our customers with the safety and reliability they demand.
Key Responsibilities- Real-Time Threat Monitoring: Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents generated by security tools to identify and respond promptly to potential threats.
- Incident Response Coordination: Lead and coordinate incident response efforts across departments, IT, OT, and security teams to investigate and contain security incidents.
- Security Information and Event Management: Create, tune, and curate existing and new security alerts related to grid environments, systems, and projects.
- Liaison between Domains: Work closely between IT/OT domains, lines of business, and the Cybersecurity team to ensure full and complete operations of security controls and monitoring tools.
- Cybersecurity Posture: Collaborate with cybersecurity counterparts to ensure a cohesive security posture across both IT and OT domains.
- Experience: Five years of experience performing threat analysis, detection engineering, and/or incident response in Cybersecurity Operations and Incident Response.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a specialized field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Preferred Skills: Experience working with a SIEM platform (e.g., Splunk), developing detections, and cyber monitoring use-cases; supporting cyber defense analysis of Operational Technology (OT) Networks; and working in a Security Operation Center or Incident Response team.
- Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Work Mode: Hybrid, with a set number of days at an SCE facility and the option to work remotely on remaining days.
- Primary Work Location: Rosemead, CA.
- US Citizenship Required: Due to Critical Infrastructure security protocols.
