Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.

About the Position:

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) 1st shift position (8:45am - 3:15pm) based in our Adult Day Program setting at our Old Saybrook, CT location. You will provide direct care and services centered on promoting independence, self-esteem, respect, and choice for our participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care, including personal hygiene and toileting assistance.
  • Respond to and act on any accidents, emergencies, incidents, and medical problems.
  • Develop and implement skill-building and sensory stimulating activities to enrich each participant's life.
  • Act as an advocate and role model, encouraging attitudes and behaviors that promote community inclusion.
  • Provide transportation to/from the program, participants' homes, and the community using an agency vehicle.
  • Complete necessary documentation in Therap and/or other recordkeeping sources.

Requirements:

  • Current driver's license, auto insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Willingness to assist individuals with personal hygiene.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Technology competency.

Education and Experience:

*High school diploma required.

  • Six months to two years related experience, desired but not required.
