Job Title: Night Youth Support Specialist

New Directions Youth and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Youth Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community-based program, you will provide guidance and support to youth in a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care and support to youth, including waking them up, ensuring they are dressed and fed, and preparing them for school or activities.
  • Develop and lead recreational activities, games, and educational programs to promote healthy habits and social skills.
  • Implement unit policies and procedures, and maintain a safe and respectful environment for all youth.
  • Collaborate with the program coordinator and manager to develop and implement individualized plans for each youth.
  • Provide crisis intervention, life space counseling, and independent living skills training as needed.
  • Interact with families of youth, set boundaries, and provide support as required.
  • Encourage academic achievement and assist with homework and educational activities.
  • Assist with medical directives, treatment, and instructions from Health Services.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings, team meetings, and in-service training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but a High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience is also acceptable.
  • One to two years of experience working with youth, preferably in a residential or community-based setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including youth, families, and staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license, adequate auto insurance, and compliance with New Directions' Driver's License policy and Auto Insurance policy.
  • Ability to pass an annual physical for Category 3 job classification.
