Landscape Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Groundsperson to join our team at Kendall Vegetation Services in Unionville, MO. As a key member of our crew, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and appearance of landscapes throughout the area.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks including clearing brush and trees, cleaning up job sites, and operating equipment such as chainsaws and pruners. You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Clear brush and trees from right-of-way using hand saws, pole saws, and gas-powered chain saws.
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
  • Use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment.
  • Perform general clean-up of job sites following completion of work.
  • Set up and break down road signs as directed.
  • Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury.
  • Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
  • Perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is preferred.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent education is also preferred.
  • Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
  • Ability to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must have and maintain a Driver's License if hired for a driving position.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $45,000-$60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
