About the Role

As a Laboratory Manager at Republic Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of technical information and analysis in support of site objectives. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of personnel engaged in performing chemical and physical tests required for quality control of processes and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain compliance with all applicable Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols, including corporate, accreditation, and method requirements.
  • Ensure that laboratory operations are accomplished within budget and to company, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement laboratory safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Manage programs efficiently to process routine waste acceptance information in compliance with WAP (Waste Analysis Plan) and good safety practices.
  • Manage laboratory efforts related to waste pre-acceptance reviews, treatability studies, and related activities in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to management and subordinates.
  • Maintain accreditation to certification bodies, when applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of chemistry principles and practices, including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing protocols.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality management standards, including ISO and NELAC standards, in addition to complex regulations specific to the environmental waste industry.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment, and select effective courses of action while controlling resources and expenditures.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
