As the Electrical Reliability Manager, you will oversee a dedicated team of electrical reliability engineers, drive technicians, and motor specialists. This role involves supervising key champions within the mill, focusing on safety and reliability as core priorities.

Your team will be instrumental in eliminating failures and implementing strategic enhancements in Electric Power Distribution (EPD), motor reliability practices, drive systems, and overall electrical infrastructure.

The methodologies employed by your team will include:

  • Predictive maintenance techniques
  • Failure analysis
  • Quality assurance and control methods
  • Motor shop evaluations
  • Electric Room Air Quality standards

Key performance indicators will encompass unscheduled electrical downtime, motor failure trends, reliability metrics, and overall costs associated with motor repair and replacement. This position reports directly to the Mill Reliability Leader.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Minimize unscheduled electrical downtime to achieve world-class standards and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Reliability Center of Excellence and engage with subject matter experts.
  • Develop and sustain equipment criticality assessments for operational areas.
  • Foster strong relationships with Maintenance and Operations Business Unit managers, Area Managers, and First Line Leaders to drive continuous improvement in electrical reliability systems.
  • Act as the Mill-wide Motor Champion, implementing and upholding reliability best practices across the facility.
  • Lead the Electrical Reliability Team Element Champions for EPD, Precision Maintenance, Arc Flash Safety, Electric Room Air Quality, and Drive Reliability.
  • Guide the development of Reliability Professionals, Drive Technicians, and Motor Technicians.
  • Influence operational practices to ensure proper handling and early identification of electrical equipment issues.
  • Introduce new reliability technologies and predictive methodologies.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and reliability systems. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of reliability principles, demonstrate leadership potential, and be proficient in CMMS systems and Lean tools such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
