Position Overview:
The Production Planning Leader is responsible for spearheading the scheduling and planning processes within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong focus on optimizing production schedules to enhance on-time delivery (OTD) and improve overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective planning and scheduling methodologies to minimize work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory.
2. Collaborate with Sales, Contracts, and Program Management teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of customer demand patterns.
3. Align the Master Production Schedule with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) forecast to drive improvements in OTD.
4. Utilize the ERP system to streamline material flow and prioritize work, automating manual processes wherever feasible.
5. Ensure a consistent supply of materials to the production line, maintaining optimal inventory levels in coordination with the Inventory Supervisor.
6. Conduct data analysis by extracting and interpreting information from the ERP system to support critical business decisions.
7. Facilitate SIOP training and implementation initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Production Planning and/or Scheduling within the manufacturing sector.
- Experience in made-to-order, low volume/high mix metal manufacturing processes, including machining and welding.

Preferred Skills:
- Proven track record in process improvement methodologies, specifically Lean 6S.
- Familiarity with defense manufacturing and working in unionized environments.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance on-time delivery metrics.
