Welcome to Mount Prospect Academy (MPA), a dynamic organization established in 2003, dedicated to supporting adolescents facing challenges in their educational and personal lives.
MPA has broadened its offerings to serve a diverse population of youth who may be difficult to engage or place in traditional settings. Our comprehensive services include home and community-based interventions, residential care, group homes, and specialized educational institutions.
The Academic Case Manager for Special Education will work closely with the Education Team to ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout their educational experience.
As a vital member of the academic and therapeutic team, the Academic Case Manager is responsible for educating and guiding students within the school framework.
- Delivers specialized instruction and evaluation for students with special needs in accordance with the school curriculum.
- Utilizes customized teaching strategies for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP) or related service plans.
- Administers specific accommodations for standardized assessments based on IEP stipulations.
- Completes essential documentation related to IEP and evaluation processes.
- Assists in procuring educational materials.
- Maintains and submits records including lesson plans and student progress reports.
- Engages in curriculum development and professional growth activities.
- Oversees teaching assistants and contributes to the planning of school excursions.
- Acts as a representative of Mount Prospect Academy to the community, parents, and external organizations.
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a valid educator's certification in Special Education.
- Preferred two or more years of experience in special education instruction for middle and high school students.
- Experience working with students with educational disabilities.
