Job Title: Manufacturing Manager

The Manufacturing Manager is a critical role within Ferry Machine Corporation, responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our CNC machine precision parts manufacturing operations. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Engineering team in the development, review, and improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Evaluate and identify potential failures related to operational processes, efficiency, and quality loss, and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate these issues.
  • Define and communicate design intent and engineering tolerances to engineers and manufacturers to optimize control of manufacturing processes.
  • Create job methods and detail prints of fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing operations.
  • Assign engineers to implement improvements and provide operator training when introducing new processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct tests and reviews feedback from operators to determine means of improving production.
  • Aid in maintaining fixtures, tooling, and other equipment to ensure optimal manufacturing performance.
  • Propose and implement cost reduction programs to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain production floor layout to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Author Work Instructions pertaining to production processes.
  • Fulfill customer engineering or suppliers engineering requests as needed.
  • Complete quality system requirements as they pertain to specific job functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervise 7-10 team members within the Engineering (CNC Machine Programmers) department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 Years management experience in contract manufacturing.
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent, or a minimum of five years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO13485 QMS, and FDA requirements.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience with precision, low to mid volume machining and assembly equipment, tooling, fixturing, and gauging.
  • Experience with PFMEA, CAPA and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge in the use of Mastercam or equivalent software to program CNC equipment and model creation.
  • Computer skills required: E2 MRP Systems; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software; Ability to write and send E-mails to peers, reports, customers, and suppliers as needed.
