We are currently seeking a Production Automation Technician who will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to conceptualize, design, and implement machinery, fixtures, tooling, and processes for product design and assembly. This role involves participating in project teams as the Manufacturing/Production representative, ensuring a seamless transition from product development to production. The technician will also provide support to daily production lines to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all quality standards and company protocols consistently.
- Maintain effective communication with team members.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for process improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues.
- Execute assigned tasks with a focus on quality and efficiency, ensuring revenue and profitability.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing challenges while driving towards root cause resolution.
- Collaborate with various departments to implement solutions for systemic challenges.
- In partnership with Manufacturing Engineering, introduce new manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Analyze, recommend, and implement solutions to enhance production requirements for improved products and processes.
- Comply with Quality Policy and Procedures, as well as OSHA guidelines for workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Technical training in Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a related manufacturing environment (automation, machining, electro-mechanical assembly, fabrication, injection molding).
Skills & Experience:
- At least three years of experience in production or product design.
- Ability to conceptualize designs for assembly equipment, jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids.
- Proven technical knowledge and capability in troubleshooting equipment.
- Hands-on experience in fabricating prototypes and assembly equipment using conventional and CNC machines, 3D printing, and other manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in developing new processes and enhancing existing ones for continuous improvement.
- Proficient in creating work instructions that accurately outline maintenance, setup, and assembly processes.
- CAD experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of controls design and troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with PLC programming is a plus.
- Effective communication skills, including reporting and participation in meetings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Awareness of general safety and quality standards.
