Job Title: Automation Controls Specialist

Job Summary:

The Automation Controls Specialist will collaborate with strategic Account Managers, Project Managers, and Estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theories, principles, and writing specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLC programming, control strategies development, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project potential and develop proposals.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to communicate with customers and design teams.
  • Develop PLC programs in Function Block, Structure text, Ladder, and other languages.
  • Design and develop control strategies, I/O lists, and Bill of Materials for control panels and automated systems.
  • Perform quality assurance and factory acceptance testing for control panels.
  • Commission and troubleshoot control systems on-site.
  • Train customers on control system operation and software.
  • Mentor and train less experienced automation specialists.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of electrical theories and principles.
  • Experience with PLC programming and control strategies development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
