Position Overview

  • Provide essential guidance and support to incoming first-year and transfer students through the Academic Pathways Program.
  • Collaborate with various campus departments to enhance the success and retention of advisees.
  • Assist students in exploring majors and career options, navigating academic procedures, and managing registration processes.
  • Design and facilitate workshops aimed at promoting academic success and improving student retention rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic Pathways Program (APP)
    • Deliver program information and support services to participants.
    • Provide social and academic assistance to First-Gen Scholars within APP.
    • Engage with students through multiple communication channels to foster connections.
    • Work closely with faculty to assist students in major selection and academic planning.
    • Implement academic intervention strategies to offer solutions and guidance to students.
    • Organize co-curricular activities and programs to bolster student success.
  • Support for Transfer Students
    • Ensure a smooth transition for incoming transfer students.
    • Assist in course selection and credit evaluation for transfer applicants.
    • Collaborate with various offices to support NCAA Division I transfer athletes.
  • Academic Advising
    • Provide academic support to undergraduates using innovative approaches.
    • Address student academic challenges and encourage engagement.
    • Collaborate with advisors to meet diverse student needs.
    • Facilitate communication and resolve concerns between students and faculty.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in higher education are required, with a Master's degree preferred.
