We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all respiratory therapy procedures as ordered by physicians, including ventilator management, intubation, and medication delivery.
- Assist physicians and other departments as needed, providing support and expertise in respiratory care.
- Conduct initial respiratory assessments, evaluate patient response to therapy, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation, troubleshoot effectively, and take an active role in weaning patients from ventilation.
- Maintain and clean equipment, instruments, and patient records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians to implement orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely implementation of respiratory care plans.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives, attend mandatory meetings, and respond to department emails in a timely manner.
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure in the state of Alabama.
- BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Critical care experience preferred.
