**Job Summary**
The Patient Access Trainer is responsible for delivering education and training to the Patient Access Department at Shore Medical Center. This role requires providing support and training to various stakeholders, including support services and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials for new staff members.
• Ensure all educational resources are up-to-date and accessible to current staff and support services.
• Create and maintain competency programs for the department.
• Review competencies with staff to guarantee all training and education needs are met.
• Provide training and education on various systems, including Cerner, AS400, Passport, and other programs used in the Patient Access Department.
• Coordinate training and education programs with department preceptors.
• Develop training schedules and materials for new hires based on their skill sets.
• Coordinate the preceptor program on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain department policies and procedures related to registration and scheduling.
• Provide support to the application specialist and information technology department during system testing or redesign.
• Perform registration and scheduling duties when necessary.
• Other duties assigned by leadership.
Requirements
• High school graduate or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in admissions, outpatient registration, patient scheduling, and other patient access functions.
• Proficient in PC technology, including MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and industry-standard software.
• Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
