Key Responsibilities
The Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine will be responsible for:

  • Ordering and preparing the necessary radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Conducting advanced nuclear medicine procedures and utilizing technology to process and analyze patient data for accurate exam results.
  • Maintaining meticulous records to ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission standards.
  • Documenting patient outcomes on appropriate media.
  • Executing quality control measures on all nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and dose calibrators.
  • Applying complex mathematical calculations to determine the decay of radiopharmaceuticals and their biological half-lives, as well as compounding intricate drug kits.
  • When necessary, operating mobile units to provide services at remote locations.

Physical Demands
This position may involve varied physical requirements and respiratory fit testing. Daily exposure to low-level radiation from sealed sources and patient doses is expected, along with occasional exposure to higher radiation levels from therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. Candidates should be prepared for potential exposure to bodily fluids and pathogens.

Qualifications
* A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
* Current certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Board must be achieved within the first year of employment.
* CPR certification is required within the initial 90 days of employment.
* Effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written) are essential.
* Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
