Nuclear Medicine Technician Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team at OU Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including Geiger counters and scintillation detectors.
  • Assist with patient preparation and positioning for imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a nuclear medicine department.
  • Knowledge of Positron Emission Tomography and Computerized Tomography.
