Environmental Field Engineer

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for environmental remediation? Do you have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems? We are seeking an Environmental Field Engineer to join our team at Terracon, a 100% employee-owned multidiscipline consulting firm.

As an Environmental Field Engineer, you will work outdoors during all seasons conducting environmental media sampling and remediation system operation and maintenance. You will be responsible for conducting environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, material, and soil. You will also conduct well sampling, monitoring, and perform repairs to environmental remediation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, material, and soil.
  • Conduct well sampling, monitoring, and perform repairs to environmental remediation systems.
  • Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with environmental engineering/geologist/scientist staff on projects.
  • Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils, soil vapor, and groundwater including soil type classification.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related sciences.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Ability to travel out of town on a routine basis.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with working outdoors.
  • Strong organization skills.


Preferred:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation, or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
