Job Overview

The Quality Engineering Lead will oversee the planning and execution of departmental operations. This position emphasizes the implementation of professional activities within a specialized technical field. The role operates with a degree of independence while adhering to established policies and reviewing end results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for both quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ensure the quality of products, services, and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, and product inspections.
  • Oversee staffing and performance development of team members.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of technical disciplines and analytical skills to execute policies and strategies.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of best practices and how their area integrates with others, along with awareness of competitive factors in the market. They will exercise judgment and propose alternative solutions to complex manufacturing processes.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Lead small-scale projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Facilitate consensus among team members on relevant topics.
  • Communicate performance expectations and address sensitive issues effectively.

Quality Assurance Activities

  • Review and approve manufacturing plans and changes, particularly for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
  • Support and lead both internal and external audits.
  • Engage in all quality-related activities, focusing on quality objectives and product conformity.
  • Implement effective Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) strategies.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections and lead key elements in APQP / PPAP activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and identify corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of quality manufacturing experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality manufacturing.
