Quality Control Inspector Job Summary

Steel Service is seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to ensure the accuracy and quality of fabricated materials. The successful candidate will verify weld performance criteria, inspect completed welds, and ensure compliance with Steel Service's quality control procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Verify weld performance criteria, including member length, hole location and diameter, and sub-assembly verification
  • Inspect completed welds, including weld size and non-destructive testing
  • Ensure compliance with Steel Service's quality control procedures and industry standards (A.I.S.C and A.W.S. D1.1)
  • Identify and correct production problems, including dimensional errors, incorrect hole dimensions or diameters, and incorrect weld joint fit-up
  • Responsible for calibrating and issuing inspection equipment to personnel

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in Welding Inspection or Welding Shop Operations
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Associate degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately and thoroughly, with a focus on goal-oriented and interpersonal skills
