Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a certified Middle School Math Teacher to work with Washington Connections Academy from a home office in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. The teacher will manage instructional programs, consult with caretakers, Learning Coaches, and students, and ensure successful completion of the instructional program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Host a homeroom of students, acting as a role model and mentor, and supporting students and families through key school year cycle tasks.
  • Deliver synchronous LiveLessons, supplement and enhance asynchronous content, and provide support videos to students as needed.
  • Operate within the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports model, use data to provide differentiated instruction, and work with a team to develop and implement Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
  • Grade assignments, provide feedback, and review curriculum to devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons.
  • Support students and caretakers with alternate lessons, assessments, and strategies, and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects.
  • Consult with instructional staff and learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to students' programs.
  • Communicate regularly with caretakers, students, and instructional staff through the use of computer and telephone, and log all contacts within 24 hours.
  • Meet weekly student contact requirements, and participate in the administration of state testing, including in-person proctoring of WIDA and/or SBAC/WCAS testing.
  • Participate in student recruiting sessions, marketing efforts, and other activities that require staff representation.
  • Be a collaborative member of IEP and 504 teams, and work with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure students and families are receiving appropriate communications.
  • Attend and participate in in-person training sessions and team-building activities, and report and refer critical incidents that jeopardize student well-being.
  • Complete the duties of an assigned or volunteered-for representative or Career Ladder position, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Washington teacher certification in K-8 Elementary Education or Mathematics.
  • Residence in Washington preferred.
  • Team player track record, highly flexible, and with a demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated strong technology skills, excellent communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to foster and encourage an inclusive work and school environment.
  • Student- and family-focused approach, with demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.
  • Ability to travel for one, possibly two, weeks at a time for key school events.
  • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication.
Salary Range

Based on Experience and Education, the salary ranges from $40,000-55,000.
