We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at the El Dorado Irrigation District. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for managing public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of water and wastewater distribution systems, treatment plants, and hydroelectric generation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, review, and oversee construction projects to ensure compliance with District and regulatory standards.
- Research project design requirements, perform calculations, and prepare cost estimates.
- Provide technical assistance to contractors and subcontractors, and respond to requests for information.
- Inspect and verify quality of workmanship, conduct submittal reviews, and authorize certification of project completions.
- Verify and approve progress payments and contract retainage.
- Professional engineering experience in public infrastructure projects, with proven project management abilities.
- Candidates will demonstrate versatility in collaborative and independent work environments, managing projects effectively from inception to completion.
- Civil Associate Engineers must hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Senior Civil Engineers must have five years of professional engineering experience, including three years in a similar role.
The El Dorado Irrigation District is a public agency dedicated to providing high-quality water, wastewater treatment, recycled water, hydropower, and recreation services in an environmentally and fiscally responsible manner. Our service area is located in El Dorado County, California, and we serve over 150,000 residents.
We are a multi-county special district that operates a federally licensed 21-megawatt hydroelectric powerhouse and award-winning recreation areas. Our Engineering Department is responsible for prioritizing, planning, and implementing public works projects, and we are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team.
