Job Summary

As a Senior Mental Health Physician with the New York State, you will have overall administrative responsibility for a major treatment component organized to provide the full range of patient services. This role requires ensuring that treatment programs are planned, organized, and conducted per patient needs. You will provide clinical and administrative oversight to medical staff, including psychiatrists, physicians, pediatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and pharmacists; oversee the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff; perform case reviews and provide treatment to patients; provide advice and serve as a resource to lower-level facility medical staff; and collect and analyze data to enhance medication management on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State
Certification in psychiatry by the ABPN
Two years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows
