Mental Health Technician Job Summary

COMHAR, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing supportive counseling and psychoeducational groups to individuals with psychiatric and health-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct services to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene and ADLs, and assistance with tasks necessary for maintaining a therapeutic community and residence.
  • Conduct activities with residents, including educational, social, and leisure programs, incorporating resident input and suggestions in the planning process.
  • Document progress notes on assigned residents and report any resident crisis or unusual incidents to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as assigned, including Quality Improvement Program and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
Requirements:
  • AA in human services + 2 years MH/MR related experience;
  • High School/GED + 4 years of Mental Health / Intellectual Disability related experience required;
  • Valid driver's license is required;
  • Previous experience working with individuals involved with the criminal justice system;
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
