Job Title: Driver

Covenant Living is seeking a skilled Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for campus residents and support services as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport residents to and from scheduled and emergency appointments, as well as provide transportation for Circuit bus, planned activities, and group trips as schedule allows.
  • Operate assigned vehicles under various road and weather conditions in a safe and efficient manner, prioritizing the safety and comfort of residents.
  • Communicate with receptionists to determine pick-up times and locations for residents.
  • Aid in the safe transfer of residents to and from vehicles when necessary.
  • Utilize mobile telephones safely and efficiently to receive pick-up reports and plan driving routes.
  • Report any transportation issues, incidents, or changes in resident condition to management.
  • Perform regular safety checks on vehicles, including lights, gauges, and mirrors, to ensure unobstructed vision and a safe vehicle.
  • Assist office staff with various errands and transportation tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • At least six months of previous driving experience with knowledge of local and surrounding community roads.
  • Valid CDL driver's license in the state and an excellent driving record.
  • For bus driving, a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License in good standing.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A genuine compassion for elderly and disabled individuals and the ability to interact with residents in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of lifting techniques and first aid.
