Position Summary

The Therapist will provide mental health assessments and counseling interventions for youth. This role involves providing high-quality, holistic services using the FFT-CW approach, monitoring and documenting youth's mental well-being and overall adjustment to the program.

This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team and involves developing and implementing treatment plans. The Therapist will work closely with the administrative team to ensure therapy hours align with youth's needs and contribute to the overall operation of clinical services.

The Therapist's caseload will typically consist of 10-12 families. This role requires the ability to work non-traditional hours to accommodate in-person meetings with clients.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct mental health assessments, evaluate youth situations, and provide ongoing treatments.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for all youth, screen for human trafficking concerns.
  • Implement various treatments and protocols to guide and address youth behaviors.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Educate and involve family members or loved ones in the treatment process when necessary.
  • Create individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and circumstances.
  • Utilize FFT-CW phases to apply specific skills and achieve goals.
  • Comfort working with diverse community clients.
  • Knowledge of community family types.
  • Engage primary caregivers, family members, supports, and community agency staff (school, probation, child welfare) in change-oriented treatment.
  • Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with ongoing support from your supervisor and team members.
  • Participate in regular training, professional development, supervision, and consultation activities to acquire extensive clinical skills within the FFT-CW treatment model.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with active listening.
  • Positive and compassionate attitude, solid relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or other counseling-related degree preferred.
  • Experience working with families involved or at risk of involvement in child protection beneficial.
  • Independent license not required but preferred.

The pay range for this role is $63,000 USD per year (472 Community Intervention).
