About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Reeves Construction Company. As a key member of our estimating team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing project and bid strategies that drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Strategy Development: Analyze project proposals and historical cost data to create and implement effective project and bid strategies.
  • Estimating and Bid Management: Lead the estimating team and coordinate estimates with senior management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of bids and proposals.
  • Quantity Takeoff and Summaries: Perform detailed quantity takeoff and summaries to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Bid Schedule Management: Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities and maintaining a bid schedule to ensure estimating team meets required deadlines.
  • Project Pursuit and Management: Organize and lead large project and/or design-build pursuits, preparing construction estimates by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs.
  • Solicitation and Negotiation: Solicit bids and proposals from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Cost Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Quality Service Maintenance: Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and develop customer/client relationships.
  • Pre-Construction Support: Support operations during pre-construction by scheduling and facilitating hand-off meetings, preparing project budgets, job setup and initiating project procurement.
  • Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop team members.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required with Civil Engineering or Construction Management degrees preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in highway construction, site development, utilities and asphalt paving is required.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Experience in all phases of bid and proposal development; knowledge of HCSS software program and take-off software such as AGTEK or Bluebeam is a plus.
