Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. As a lactation consultant, you will provide expert care and guidance to breastfeeding mothers and their infants, promoting a positive and supportive environment for new families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide initial and ongoing assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues.
  • Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques to promote successful breastfeeding.
  • Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assist with their development.
  • Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding.
  • Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certification specializing in Lactation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
