Austin Industries is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our commercial office buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and general building repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Respond to tenant service requests and ensure that work is completed accurately and with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the property and equipment, and ensure that all work is performed with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Monitor and replace light fixtures as needed, and perform other tasks related to building maintenance and operations.
  • Promote safety among all building tenants, vendors, and visitors, and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist in preparing the Building Maintenance budget, and manage asset maintenance and oversee service contractors.
  • Administer card access equipment and support data management for access systems, and respond quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, property management, and vendors, and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • 3-5+ years of commercial property experience in Class A and Class B offices.
  • Construction knowledge a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and work order software.
  • Must be highly organized with an attention to detail, and be an effective communicator with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines, and adapt to changing portfolios.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
