About this Role:

We're seeking a Firmware QA Engineer to validate the COSMOS Firmware and associated SDKs for Astera Labs' SoC and systems products. Working closely with our development team, you'll create test plans, write well-defined test procedures, and execute them to verify the implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure firmware quality and reliability.
  • Analyze customer use cases, write stress/negative tests, and triage test execution failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing efforts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience supporting complex SoC/silicon products for Server, Storage, and Networking applications.
  • Expertise in C/C++ development, including white-box testing methodology on a per-module basis and black-box testing for full firmware implementation.
  • Proficiency in Python and test automation tools (e.g., Pytest).
  • Familiarity with software/firmware build environments, CI/CD tools (e.g., Git & Jenkins), and secure software principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience testing or developing embedded firmware for on-chip microcontrollers and/or C-language SDKs for PCIe or Ethernet Switch products.
  • Familiarity with security firmware solutions and industry standards (e.g., NIST, Open Compute Project, DMTF).
Compensation and Benefits:
