Job Summary:

KWC Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Professional to join our team as a Design Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing infrastructure improvement plans for residential, commercial, and public works projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Infrastructure Plans: Prepare preliminary and final engineering plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Southern California, including grading, street, and utility improvements.
  • Drainage Design and Water Quality Mitigation: Develop drainage design experience and water quality mitigation plans for low-impact development applications.
  • Technical Report Preparation: Prepare technical reports and calculations, including hydrology/hydraulics, WQMP, SWPPP, and water and sewer.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure the quality of design and implement innovative ideas through supervision, participation, plan reviews, and training of junior staff.
  • Mentorship and Team Collaboration: Mentor less experienced staff and collaborate with project managers to build lasting relationships with clients and agencies.
  • Project Management: Manage technical aspects of projects, including the preparation of construction plans, reports, and documents for land development projects.
  • Budgeting and Time Management: Monitor project budgets and hours assigned to specific tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with leadership skills to manage multi-disciplined land development engineering tasks.
  • Certifications: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Civil Design, H2OMap Sewer, and Water; experience in engineering design for land development projects; problem-solving, sound judgment, decision-making, communication, and team building skills.
