JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Hazleton is inviting applications for an Adjunct Instructor in the Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Responsibilities include teaching one to three undergraduate courses (1-3 credits each; up to a maximum of 9 credits per semester) during the spring and/or fall semesters based on expertise and departmental needs.

Additional responsibilities may vary by assignment.

Successful candidates will possess a background in orthopedics and be capable of instructing courses within the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) curriculum.


Examples of courses include:
PTA Procedures I and II, Human Musculature and Functional Anatomy, Therapeutic Exercise, and Pathophysiology. Teaching assignments may require instruction during the day and/or evening as necessary.

PT120 (Human Musculature and Functional Anatomy) and PT150 (Physical Therapist Assistant Procedures I) In accordance with Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) criteria, successful candidates will have a minimum of three years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy practice.

Additionally, candidates must hold an active, unrestricted PT license or PTA license/certification in any United States jurisdiction and comply with the state practice act in Pennsylvania.


Qualifications:

Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with at least a master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Teaching assignments may require instruction during the day, evening, or weekend classes, as needed. Most teaching assignments will necessitate in-person instruction, with occasional opportunities for remote teaching.
