Brook & Whittle is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Guilford, CT. This position will report to the Quality Department Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a background in printing, packaging, or labels. Someone who is self-motivated, forward-thinking, and willing to challenge the status quo.

Quality Assurance Specialist Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist shift supervisors.
  • Perform quality checks on printed materials.
  • Inspect roll ends for defects and color variation.
  • Understand production materials and paperwork.
  • Make decisions related to quality and production.
  • Inspect finished products for defects.
  • File roll ends by month and press.
  • Operate quality testing equipment.
  • Make folding standards and sample labels.
  • Order inventory consumables.
  • Maintain customer standards.
  • File customer signed folding standards and proofs.
  • Notify Quality Manager of issues.
  • Report hazards to managers and supervisors.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Quality Assurance Specialist Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in quality inspection.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and prepare presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Industry certification a plus.
  • Proficient in using metric and standard measuring devices.
  • Ability to remain poised under difficult circumstances.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality.
  • Take direction well from Quality Lead and Quality Manager.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ability to train others.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
