Salary Information:

The starting salary for this position is typically $47, with potential adjustments based on education and work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties of this role include:

  • Conducting initial Risk Assessments and developing Re-entry Accountability Plans for each individual under supervision, with follow-up plans as required.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and written records related to the supervision of assigned individuals, both regularly and as needed.
  • Engaging with individuals under supervision and documenting case notes as necessary, based on risk assessments at various locations.
  • Monitoring individuals' movements, housing, employment, and access to services, including those for registered sex offenders.
  • Providing counseling and support to individuals transitioning back into the community, assisting them in securing employment, education, training, and housing.
  • Developing and promoting community resources for offender programs and treatment, while keeping records of available resources.
  • Conducting community-based investigations for clemency and parole matters, including addressing parole violations in accordance with departmental and state regulations.
  • Serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings and hearings.
  • Administering drug and alcohol screenings, conducting probable cause hearings, and fostering community resource development.
  • Responding to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis.
  • Assisting in the transportation of individuals to departmental facilities.

Qualifications for Success:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional experience in criminal justice, correctional counseling, criminology, parole/probation work, law enforcement, social work, or a related field.
  • Must pass all drug screenings.
  • Upon hiring, candidates must qualify for and maintain firearm certification, including successful completion of the Parole Academy during onboarding.
  • A comprehensive understanding of laws, rules, departmental policies, and procedures related to the supervision of paroled individuals.
  • Familiarity with community-based resources (education, employment, counseling, rehabilitation, etc.) to support the reintegration of individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills relevant to case management.
  • Ability to accurately assess an individual's risk level and identify signs of illness or inappropriate behavior.
  • Capability to conduct thorough investigations into an individual's activities, including community assessments.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with individuals under supervision, their families, employers, and program providers, as well as local law enforcement and officials.
  • Strong critical thinking skills applicable to various situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may involve supervisory duties based on the needs of the agency.
