About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to provide behavioral support services in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who require behavioral support and will be able to provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Behavioral Assistance: Provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned students, including assistance with classroom activities, grooming, eating/meal preparation, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Behavioral Support: Assist students with managing assault/difficult behavior, crisis intervention, encouraging independence, and maintaining student safety.
  • Implementation of Behavioral Plans: Implement behavioral plans and make changes as needed, verifying client requests and confirming schedules with Amergis office staff.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document care per Amergis policies and procedures, and communicate notes or incident logs as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's degree in behavioral studies or a related field preferred.
  • Language: Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
  • Certifications: Current Health Certificate, CPR card, and TB Skin test or Chest X-ray.
  • Testing: Successful completion of Company testing process.
