Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at IntuneHealth. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and record patient vital signs
  • Record patient intake interview and medical history
  • Catalog and communicate patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and/or other clinical personnel
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
  • Assist physician with exams and explain treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patients
  • Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and/or other clinical personnel
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions
  • Collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens and perform basic waived lab tests
  • Prepare and administer medications, change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision
  • Launch telehealth visits, guide patients through using the technology, and perform all digital exam procedures while providing the same quality documentation tracking as in-clinic visits
  • Respond to patient inquiries via chat, text, email, or other means while meeting IntuneHealth response time standards
  • Meet wait time and visit time standards and provide process improvement recommendations to meet these goals
  • Prepare and actively participate during daily care team meetings and provide updates on patient visibility, hospitalizations, etc.
  • Assist in checking-in patients, escorting patients to exam rooms, checking-out, and scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilize instruments while practicing OSHA safety standards and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation
  • Call in prescriptions to the pharmacy upon physician approval and authorization
  • Use communication skills with appropriate medical terminology and follow appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
  • Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up with coached patients via weekly calls
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment or documented clinical rotation training can be substituted for work experience
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
  • EMR system experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment
