Job Title: Medical Assistant - In Patient Services

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team at Millennium Physician Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and provide support during medical procedures.
  • Schedule appointments for patients with primary care physicians and ensure timely follow-up care.
  • Conduct regular visits to hospitals within the designated area to meet with patients referred for discharge planning.
  • Ensure workflow processes and collaboration of care are present, measuring outcomes to ensure the success of the program.
  • Patient Assessment: Assess the specific needs of each patient by thoroughly reviewing medical records, discussing with healthcare professionals, and evaluating patients' physical, emotional, and psychological conditions.
  • Maintain regular communication with patients, their families, healthcare providers, and internal team members to ensure effective care coordination and address any concerns or changes in the patient's condition.
  • Provide patients and their families with education on self-care, medication management, wound care, and any other necessary topics to promote a safe recovery at home.
  • Accurately document all interactions, assessments, care plans, and interventions by adhering to company protocols and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines related to patient care, privacy, and safety.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service to both patients and other providers.
  • Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience and/or certification.
  • 1+ years in a medical office, preferred.
  • Experience with CarePort Notification system, required.
  • Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
