We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring our machinery and equipment run smoothly and efficiently.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure efficient operation. You will also diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for machinery and systems.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Engineering industry or similar role, with in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. They will also be proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, with excellent understanding of technical aspects, including blueprint reading and interpretation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine and preventative maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
  • Interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for machinery and systems.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to understand and address any mechanical issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
  • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Documenting all performed work, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications include:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Engineering industry or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Excellent understanding of technical aspects, including blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities with a strong technical aptitude.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
  • Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus.
