Job Summary
Progressive Technologies is seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Low Voltage Installations department, you will be responsible for managing projects involving computer networks, cameras, phone systems, and access control using Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects involving wiring computer networks, cameras, phone systems, and access control using Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics.
- Work in adverse situations and/or environments while using proper safety equipment.
- Replace or install cat-6 data and voice drops with cat-6 cabling and corresponding materials.
- Conduct on-site installations, corrections, and troubleshooting of clients' equipment, providing customer service and education.
- Climb ladders to a height of approximately 25 feet.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Install, route, and terminate cabling for access control systems.
- Assist customers with setting up Wi-Fi systems upon installation.
- Experience in installing support structures such as j-hooks, cable slings.
- Experience with work orders and usage of IP addresses to set up information.
- Hang j-hooks, ladder racks, and dress all cables in racks to the communications closet.
- Conduct themselves in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Adhere to all State, Local, and National safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Be willing to accept and complete out-of-town projects and responsibilities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by company management.
Requirements:
- Experience in low voltage cabling and network infrastructure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
