About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Safety Ambassador to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Public Safety Ambassador, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on public safety conditions, working closely with the UC Irvine Police Department to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their safety and security concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct sustained foot patrols and extended stationary post assignments to maintain a visible presence on campus and deter potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with other departments and units to develop and implement safety and security protocols, ensuring a comprehensive and proactive approach to campus safety.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital security setting or a similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak proper English.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must successfully complete an extensive background investigation.
  • Required to successfully complete an FBI fingerprinting process and maintain the successful completion of an FBI fingerprinting process throughout employment.
