Job Summary:
This Radiology Imaging Specialist role involves performing diagnostic radiology procedures utilizing various equipment under the supervision of the Radiology Director and Staff Radiologist. Responsibilities include scheduling and preparing patients for examination, obtaining optimal images, developing exposed X-ray film, and maintaining medical records.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain and verify physician orders
- Obtain patient medical history before examination
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered
- Assist radiologists during special procedures and fluoroscopy
- Maintain cleanliness of radiology equipment rooms
- Manage supplies in assigned rooms
- Produce imaging of diagnostic quality
- Perform modality procedures per protocols
- Operate PACS system and create CD copies
- Administer I.V. injections when required by modality
- Conduct multiple modalities exams per department routine
- Monitor expenditures within budgetary constraints
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel and patient information
- Participate in Customer/Guest Relations and Mandatory Education programs
- Review patient records for procedure information
- Utilize HIS and ED computer systems to obtain chart pertinent information
- Comply with hospital's Corporate Compliance Program
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma with graduation from a School of Radiology Technology
- Licensure: Certified/licensed by the State of Wyoming and ARRT
- Certifications: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy
- Experience: Experience in one additional modality (CT, MRI, Mammography, or other national certification recognized by ARRT)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain certifications and licenses
- Proficiency in complex equipment operation and precise calibrations
- Ability to speak clearly and develop positive interactions with patients, families, and staff
- Capacity to analyze and manipulate numbers for procedures
- Computer knowledge and ability to operate electronic record systems
- Awareness of developmental stages and application of theories/concepts
$65,000 - $80,000 annual salary estimate based on experience and qualifications.
