Position Overview

HealthPartners is seeking dedicated Healthcare Support Specialists, including LPNs, Medical Assistants, and EMTs, to enhance our Primary Care team. Join us in our mission to positively influence the healthcare experience for our patients and their families.

Role Responsibilities:

As a vital member of our team, your responsibilities will encompass the following tasks:

• Assisting patients to examination rooms while accurately recording essential visit details and vital signs such as height, weight, and blood pressure.

• Preparing and administering medications and vaccinations as instructed by a clinician or RN, or according to established protocols.

• Performing and aiding in various procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, including but not limited to ear lavages, EKGs, and bladder scans.

• Ensuring the completion of all standard rooming procedures, including medication reconciliation, allergy assessments, immunization checks, and the filling out of necessary forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.

• Staying informed about and adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

Essential Qualifications:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. Must hold a current state practical nursing license. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required and must be maintained. A minimum of one year of nursing experience is preferred (ideally in a related medical field).

OR

Medical Assistant (MA): Graduation from a Medical Assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required and must be maintained. A minimum of one year of experience is preferred (ideally in a related medical field).

OR

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): High school diploma or GED along with current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required and must be maintained.
  • Must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years of pharmacy technician experience OR
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT program and possess a current Minnesota EMT License.
Preferred Qualifications:

One or more years of experience in healthcare is preferred (ideally in a related medical field).
