Job Title: Hospital Housekeeper

Job Overview:

The Environmental Service Hospital Housekeeper may work in any location on client premises, cleaning and maintaining facilities or locations in a healthcare campus. The general responsibilities of the position include:

  • Cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
  • Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Sweeping and/or vacuuming floors.
  • Dusting furniture and equipment.
  • Polishing metalwork.
  • Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Replenishing bathroom supplies.
  • Transporting small equipment or tools between departments.
Job Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, applicants must:

  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they request and are granted a medical or religious exemption.
  • Have experience in the janitorial industry, preferably in medical cleaning.
  • Pass a post-offer medical, background screening, and drug test.
  • Hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include:

  • Standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Talking or hearing.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:

The work environment for this role includes:

  • Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasional work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Quiet noise level.
