Job Summary
El Museo del Barrio is seeking an experienced Accessibility Program Developer to join our Education Department. The successful candidate will develop and implement programs designed to increase the accessibility of the Museum for diverse audiences with physical, sensory, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for inclusion, equity, and social justice, as well as knowledge of best practices working with Access groups. A background in Art History, Art Education, or Museum Studies is preferred. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with an estimated salary of $25-$30 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement accessible virtual and in-person educational programs for diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate Access visits, including developing lesson plans and art-making workshops.
  • Foster partnerships with schools, community organizations, and centers for older adults serving individuals with disabilities.
  • Ensure all materials and resources meet ADA guidelines and accommodate diverse abilities.
Requirements
  • BA in Art History, Art Education, Museum Studies, or BFA in Studio Art required; MA preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching, coordinating programs, and facilitating community outreach in a museum environment.
  • Bilingual Spanish language proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent teaching, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
