Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each flight in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily base inspections, including narcotic inventory.
  • Provide advanced life support care from the moment of patient contact until handover to the receiving medical facility, ensuring comprehensive documentation of patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing training and clinical experiences to maintain proficiency in skills and knowledge.
  • Keep accurate records of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the operation and maintenance of all emergency medical equipment and supplies.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS personnel, hospitals, and the community.
  • Act as a medical team member during flight operations.
  • Participate in pre-flight briefings and post-mission debriefings, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Assist with pre-flight checklists and provide support to pilots as needed, including communication and navigation tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all personnel, patients, and equipment prior to takeoff.
  • Conduct safety briefings for aircraft operations as required.
  • Be available to fill open shifts as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) or critical care environment is required.

Preferred Education and Certifications:

  • Current EMT-P certification in the relevant states is mandatory.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required prior to assuming flight duties, with trauma certification to be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) is preferred and must be achieved within 24 months of hire.
  • Instructor-level certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and ITLS/PHTLS are advantageous.
  • NREMT-P certification may be necessary depending on the assigned area.
