Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about our menu and service standards.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Appraise performance, reward, and discipline associates as needed.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Advises management on purchasing requirements to minimize waste and avoid product shortages.
  • Operate and clean equipment in accordance with department procedures.
  • Store, label, and date food items according to policy to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Operate food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Help serve meals and receive customer comments and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff.
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate.
