About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Manager to provide strategic leadership and coordination support for our engineering initiatives. As a key member of our technology team, you will work closely with our engineers to design, develop, and optimize our trading technology.

As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects through their entire lifecycle, from defining goals and timelines to tracking milestones and managing developer time. You will also communicate project schedules, priorities, and status updates to the larger organization.

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities will be essential to collaborate across a wide range of teams at Jane Street, including developers, business teams, operations, and support. You will also need to communicate effectively with external financial entities to ensure each project is delivered on time and meets or exceeds stated goals and expectations.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other technical field is preferred, but not required. We are also excited to talk to people who have picked up technical know-how through industry experience.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams and managing software development projects.
  • Experience with project management planning tools, such as Jira or spreadsheets.
  • Ability to describe detailed problems with brevity and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
