Certification Requirements
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS certification is required for specialized units such as ICU, ER, PCU, Cath Lab, PACU, Tele, and Respiratory Therapists.
  • PALS certification is necessary for roles in PICU, ER, and PACU.
  • NRP certification is essential for NICU, Nursery, Antepartum, PostPartum, and Labor & Delivery units.
  • Chemo Certification is required for Oncology departments.
  • TNCC certification is needed for ER positions.
  • EFM certification is required for Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby/Post Partum, and Nursery units.
Job Overview
  • Position: Long Term Care RN
  • Start Date: ASAP (subject to compliance requirements)
  • Patient Ratios: 8:1 during the day; 13:1 at night.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred. Travel experience is advantageous.
  • Epic Experience: 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
  • Weekend Requirements: To be determined.
  • RTO Restrictions: No specific holiday requirements, but travelers may be asked to work one holiday if present for multiple recognized holidays.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Common Diagnoses/Procedures: CVA, Dementia, RA, Afib, Hip fx, Parkinson's, BKA, PNA, COPD, Huntington's disease.
  • Equipment Used: Hoyer lift, SARA lift, tube feeding pump, IV pump.
  • Unit Functionality: This is an LTC unit, functioning similarly to an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg. Trach patients, acute rehab, TPN, and Bi-PAP are not accepted. The medication system is a hybrid between LTC and MedSurg processes.
Job Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred.
  • 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Skills in IV Insertion and PICC Lines are required.
  • Open to accommodating block schedules: To be determined.
  • Locals are not accepted.
  • Pending licenses are accepted.
Schedule Information
  • Shift: 3x12 Night (7pm-7:30am).
  • First-Timers: Accepted.
  • Clinicians will rarely float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
Unit Specific Information
  • This is an LTC unit functioning similarly to an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg.
Additional Information
  • Must sign SS verification release.
  • AHA, MTN, and Canadian AHA certifications are required for various certifications.
  • Time-sensitive Alaska Release of Information.
  • Review travel policies and guidelines prior to commencement.
