The Embedded Controls Principal Engineer position is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which focuses on developing, manufacturing, and operating satellite systems. As a key member of this team, you'll lead the design and development of embedded control systems for Blue Origin's cutting-edge spacecraft.

Facts About the Role

- Travel is expected up to 10-25% of the time, allowing you to collaborate with colleagues from various departments and locations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and implement control algorithms that meet our high standards.
- Conduct thorough testing and verification to ensure the flawless performance of our spacecraft's control systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow and develop in their careers.
- Continuously evaluate and improve control system designs to stay ahead of the curve in space exploration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A proven track record of at least 7 years in embedded controls engineering.
- Expertise in developing real-time control algorithms for complex systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and experience with embedded microcontrollers.
- Strong knowledge of control system theory and practical application.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- U.S. citizenship or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Compensation
For onsite CO applicants, the estimated salary range is $188,427.00-$251,236.00. For onsite WA applicants, the estimated salary range is $198,993.00-$265,324.00. Other site ranges may differ.

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
